‘Hearts Over Carats’ is an exhibition of contemporary jewellery by twelve makers who challenge conventional notions of value—not through sentiment, but through creative play, experimentation, and material imagination.

–––––

In a world where preciousness is often defined by carats, clarity, and commodity, we ask: What happens when value is made, not mined? Can plastic be as worthy as pearl? Can a discarded object hold the same attention as gold? Through innovative materials, bold processes, and curious thinking, this exhibition celebrates the idea that worth is not just found—it’s forged.

In jewellery, value has long been linked to material: gold, diamonds, rare stones. But in contemporary practice, ideas, intent, and transformation carry just as much weight.

Hearts Over Carats brings together twelve artists who reimagine what jewellery can be—who see beauty in the overlooked, potential in the everyday, and who treat play as a powerful tool for invention. These works are not defined by what they’re made of, but what they’re made into.
This is an exhibition about imagination as alchemy—turning humble, surprising, or unconventional materials into something arresting, intriguing, and yes, even precious.
